Ever had a problem with keeping track of your application passwords. Username and password are used so many times these days, in so many places that it can be hard to recall them all. That’s where this handy plugin comes in!

The Application Passwords plugin allows you to set a password to protect your WordPress application, which will restrict access to the admin dashboard section only if a user is logged in as an administrator or a superuser. This is done by adding the Application Passwords plugin under the ‘Security’ tab on the WP Admin area. It’s a good practice to have a separate username and password for your WP application, so you can use this plugin to protect it.

Simply type the username and password into a configurable user interface and ‘send’ them to one of several social media sites that you might trust to keep your passwords. Then you don’t have to! It will remember your username/password for you. Has great social media support; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Fotolog Photos, and more will be supported in future releases!

TWO FACTOR SUPPORT

Application Passwords can be used together with the Two Factor plugin as long as you bypass the API access restrictions added by the Two Factor plugin. As well as being available in the Two Factor settings, we also offer a separate section in user profiles where you can add and manage Application Passwords. These passwords can then be used to load particularly sensitive apps or websites that are secured by firewalls or other authentication means.

IMPORTANCE

Sharepoint developers, application designers, and administrators need to be able to quickly create and change passwords for different user accounts on their SharePoint sites. It is very important for you not to save your passwords onto your development computer. The Application Password Wizard makes it easy to create passwords that expire after a specific amount of time or number of uses. You can also create passwords that start with a specific string or use a specific character set. Using this WordPress plugin will ensure your safety.
