Enable jQuery Migrate Helper Plugin is for all those people who updated to WordPress 5.x and are seeing error messages saying that their jQuery library is outdated. With the release of the new WordPress version, a new library called “WordPress Core JavaScript Library” was added which it’s a modern JavaScript library and the whole WordPress admin is using this library now instead of jQuery.

This plugin serves a similar purpose to the jQuery Migrate plugin, however, this one will “warn” you which code needs to be updated so that you can identify and fix compatibility issues. By activating this plugin you will enable the jQuery Migrate Helper. This plugin offers two modes:

  1. Warning or information (development mode) and
  2. production mode.

In production mode, the migrated functions and deprecated code found by the migration script will be replaced with a copy of the latest jQuery code. This plugin is meant to be used only when you are having trouble identifying deprecated code in your WordPress site while using jQuery 1.9+. It should not be used on production sites as it has instead been proposed that developers migrate their own plugins and themes to use the latest version of jQuery.

This plugin serves as an all-purpose jQuery Migrate Helper, useful for updating jQuery code to the latest version with a simple click. This plugin serves as a notification to you that there are JavaScript commands on your site that need to be updated. With this plugin, you can use newer jQuery features without modifying plugins, themes, or other scripts by enabling the migrated script.

An easy way of debugging your website’s JavaScript functionality. Enabling the plugin on a specific environment will allow you to detect deprecated JavaScript functionality and update the code without having to dig through the source code. This plugin gives users the power to test their websites and determine whether they need to migrate at all if they don’t deactivate the script right away.
