Redirection is a plugin for WordPress that lets you redirect the user to any URL of your choosing when a post or page gets viewed. It’s designed with those who run private sites and blogs, where personal information doesn’t need to be revealed in public forums. With this plugin, you can redirect the user back to a welcome page, or send them forward to another page on your site.

When people navigate to your site via a broken link, this plugin will see if there is another page on your site that they could navigate to instead. It does this by looking for patterns of links people might follow on your site and redirecting them to more sensible places. This plugin will look at all pages in your content and comment sections, as well as all URLs linked to from within the content. Sometimes you may have moved the page in question to a directory named differently, so the plugin will look there too!

Improve site performance and user experience

Redirection lets you easily manage and control your redirections, so you can keep a close eye on your traffic. Redirect Mapping keeps track of each redirect you create and logs the date and time it was created. The last three redirects can be accessed by simply clicking ‘History’, to easily see what happened on a certain date if you were redirected somewhere out of the blue. To get started, just click “Add New Redirection”, and paste in the URL you want to redirect from into the first field, then enter the URL you want to redirect that page or post to into the second field.

With it, you can easily manage 301 redirections, keep track of 404 errors, and generally tidy up any loose ends your site may have. These features make Redirection the perfect plugin for developers and webmasters to increase site performance and improve user experience.
