It is with great excitement that we are pleased to introduce Test jQuery Updates, a plugin designed to test out and report on issues in jQuery and jQuery UI prior to updating them in the core. Both of these JavaScript libraries are critical necessitates for displaying WordPress themes and the administration interface, so we take the quality of these libraries very seriously.

Scan and check

This WordPress plugin will scan the current page for all JavaScript files on the page and check whether they are using jQuery or some other library. It will compare their version numbers and update them if needed. The update only happens if their version number is still below 1.7.0, so you could use this plugin to automatically check for updates for all script files that are currently being used on a page.

You can use it to display the latest posts from your blog, or even the latest comments from any post within your plugins’ area. If you want to reset the view back to its original state, just click on another element in your qualified content!

To be notified easily

This plugin makes it easy to notify visitors when your jQuery library is updated on your website. It works by linking to a “version” file on your server, which the script checks after it’s loaded the current version of jQuery. If the version file is newer than your jQuery file, an alert box will let you know immediately. This can be helpful for non-developers who don’t know how to check for jQuery updates themselves.

Used to determine if an update is needed

This plugin allows you to check if a specific jQuery option was updated using the jQuery update() method. It can be used to determine if an update is needed, or to see what parameters were updated. The input plugin will show an alert box indicating that an update is available. If you publish your plugin on the repository and it has an associated update mechanism, people will be able to use this add-on to check when there is a new version and download the latest release.
